The Lord's Goodness

Good and upright is the LORD; Therefore He instructs sinners in the way. Psalm 25:8

The Lord is so good! Each new day his mercy covers us and guides our hearts to seek him. The world may be spiraling downward and out of control but the Lord’s ways are steady, good, and righteous. The Lord influences our hearts through his goodness and this leads us to repentance (Romans 2:4) and to a different direction in life. Our new direction allows us to encourage others, guide others, and help them; just as the Lord has helped us…

michael,

why does it sometimes feel like he is never listening? Life has been hard for 5 years now and I grow tired of it.

It is my experience that sometimes my heart walks away from him and he
allows me to do this... to feel very alone. The heavens feel like brass during those times as my
prayers only seem to reach the ceiling... lonliness and discontenment become my two friends... during those times my heart and soul so ache. Sometimes
I've moved away and God allows me to go into a dry place... a desert... alone so that I will learn of him... learn of my dependence on him... learn to miss
him... learn... like the prodigal son that life is so much better and sweeter with my Heavenly Father.

Sometimes I need a lesson to not rely on my feelings but to trust... to live by faith. Sometimes I need to obey the teachings of God's Word... sometimes my heart needs to be broken... God can use a broken heart.

Sometimes that are no excuses... no reasons... and no answers... during those times the main question is will I live for him, love him, trust him... even when I don't feel his presence... even when my insides are all twisted-up and I so long for the touch of his Spirit... or just a little guidance... a little help... can I, will I thank and praise him... then?

We live with an infallible mind. Our human minds are part of the carnal nature or “flesh” the Apostle Paul writes about. This flesh wars against the spiritual new man we are gen when we accept Christ. Also, we walk by faith and not be sight or emotions. Keep trusting in the Lord and reading His Word and allow time for your mind to be transformed.
