Be pure love God's Word

Your word is very pure, Therefore Your servant loves it. Psalm 119:140

You know there are a lot of things in this life that are bad for you. For example: eating too much chocolate, drinking too much coffee or soda-pop, or taking in too many sweets. Now, most of us take in these substances everyday… I know I try… J but in the final analysis we find out that their taste just cannot compare with the purity and goodness found in the Word of God.

God’s Word is pure and righteous and clean and good. We can take part in it everyday, all the time, and in the greatest of qualities. Too much of it won’t make you sick or give you pimples or even expand your waist-line.

No, the more that we take-in God’s Word the better we are. His Word has a way of purifying our thoughts, cleaning and refining our intentions and molding our motives. We become better people because our minds are filled with the principles and thoughts of a loving and good Creator.

For let’s face it. We really are a sorry and miserable lot. Left to our selves we do the must cruelest acts and stupidest things. That’s why God gave us these instructions. All to clean us up and make us children that he is proud of and that we can be proud of whom we’ve become.

We cannot change on our own. Our strength is not great enough, our intentions not good enough, and our determination not stout enough to change the raw carnal nature that we possess.

So is there hope? Yes, and double-yes… we have the greatest hope for our hope is in God. He will not leave us in the condition that we first learned of him but his love and word will change us daily.

Take in his word today and find peace, contentment, joy, love, and the best of yourself--transformed by the awesome power of God’s Word!

Father, thank you for your Word! Thank you for your love towards us! Thank you for caring so much that over the centuries you preserved your Word to teach and guide us into truth, your truth. Help us and remind us to lean on your Word for in it we find joy and peace and contentment in this life and hope for the life to come in you.
