Florida Beaches and God's Presence

One day spent in your house, this beautiful place of worship, beats thousands spent on Greek island beaches. I'd rather scrub floors in the house of my God than be honored as a guest in the palace of sin. All sunshine and sovereign is GOD, generous in gifts and glory. He doesn't scrimp with his traveling companions. It's smooth sailing all the way with GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies. Psalm 84:11

You know while I was stationed in Florida I never got to the beach. I never took my shoes off and walked along the beach line. To me… it was not all that important. It was more important for me to work. I just could not envision myself playing while my wife was at home working—so I worked.

That and I wanted to be faithful in my writing, in my reading, and in my prayer life. Now I was not 100%--throughout my life I don’t think that I’ve ever been but you know I have no regrets… I helped out with the Eastside Calvary Church folks--cleaned their nursery--repaired apart of a closet--recorded a few songs on a CD--vacuumed what was needed... just helped out...

I had fun in Florida, without the sin, without the ‘fun in the sun’ with my head and my heart in study and worship of my heavenly Father. I’d rather be in a secret place with him—in worship with him—than enjoy any of the entertainment or joys of this world—for the world simply does not stack up compared to being in his presence!
