"What Have You Done"

“all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, “what have you done” Daniel 4:35
We serve a mighty God who can and is doing as he wishes. It is God who raises up kings and rulers and it is God who brings them down (Dan. 2:21). God has a will and a plan and these will come to pass. It is we who submit to the will and plan of God and not God who submits to us. God is God and no one else.
Too often God is portrayed as some kind of butler or servant who is preoccupied with fulfilling our wishes and our whims. Some christianity is not Christianity at all as it contains a veneer or sprinkling of Christ while the rest is self fulfilling-self serving. A feel-good, non-life changing religion that advocates carnality six days of the week while going to church and playing the part-one day of the week.
This is not Christianity-this is idolatry (Romans 10:3).
True Christianity is found in repentance, in submitting, and in brokenness of our will. We are to follow Jesus, learn of his ways and become like Jesus Christ in character and good works and therefore earn the honor of being called a Christian through the grace and mercy that he's provided.
