The Spirit Speaks to a Depressed Heart...

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20

(Intro… a hurting & depressed Christian…)

Heal the broken places deep inside…
The scars and tears from you—will not hide…
Though so hard, so hard I try…
I cannot escape my present darkened side…
Through crowded streets, I walk all alone…
My journey seems fruitless, my witness all but gone…

(Unscheduled interruption by God’s Spirit to depressed heart…)

“You do not belong here, the Spirit does declare…”
“Look up, not down; your redemption draws near…”
“The Father is coming, be quick in preparing…”
“Cleanup now your act and stop interfering…”
“You’ve rested quite lazily while moping in depression…”
“Why it’s time to shine forth your heart’s true confession…”
“Confess who Christ is—proclaim His Good News…”
“Put action to words—give shelter, give food…”
“Be good, show good, live good, in these days…”
“For you never really know when the Savior will say…”
“It’s time to come home now, the work is done…”
“Those who love me, proclaimed me, their hearts I’ve won…”
“So off to the streets with you…”
“And across far-flung plains…”
“Go seek where His name is not…”
“And there teach, there preach, and there proclaim…”

…and then the Spirit spoke in my heart…
…and now I have work to be done…

What is the Spirit saying to you?

Where will He send you?
