Faithfulness to God's Word

“But if you keep looking steadily into God's perfect law--the law that sets you free--and if you do what it says and don't forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it”. James 1:25 {New Living Translation}

The Word of God is important to our lives, so very important! It must be the priority. God’s Word reminds us, like looking at a mirror, of what our heart-condition looks like… to him. By daily looking into God’s Law of Liberty, by memorizing His Word, and by thinking about it, reflecting on it, and applying its principles to our lives God will bless our lives.

Yet, there are so many distractions. And many of these distractions are good. What this means is that we can become distracted by doing good and well things and neglect what God wants us to do. God wants us in His Word each and every day... because we need His counsel.

By turning to God’s Word first, by making it a priority in our lives, we individually, attest to our Heavenly Father that we are seeking Him first. We assert that we will not ‘lean on our own understanding’ [Proverbs 3:5] but that we will trust in our Heavenly Father’s advice.

Father, thank you for your Word. Give us a greater desire for your Word each and every day. Remind us, by the urging of your Spirit, to lean on you and not on ourselves. We need you Father, our need is so great!
