Boasting in Father

but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things," declares the LORD. Jeremiah 9:24

There’s a lot to boast about in this world. There’s personal accomplishment, that great shot on the golf course, and the achievements of our children and grandchildren.

When it comes down to thinking about boasting it is these items that we most often think about. Who thinks about boasting in the Lord?Who thinks about knowing the Lord? Who thinks of his kindness, his justice, and his great righteousness?

On this Father’s Day maybe we could take some time and think about our Heavenly Father. Maybe we could speak of his kindness in our lives. We could praise him for his righteous justice. We could boast of how blessed we are to know and be known by the Greatest Father ever.

Father in Heaven too often we don’t boast of your greatestness to others; too often we fail to raise your name in the presence of unbelievers. Father, may our thoughts, may our hearts, may our praise, and may our boast be only in you!
