Prayer is Easy

"Here's what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won't be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace. Matthew 6:6

Prayer is easy. When we shut down for a few moments-for a time-the whirling thoughts of the busy day. When we relax in the comfort and presence of our Heavenly Father; a Father who is gentle, kind, and merciful. A loving Father who listens to our prayer and who considers them and the heart behind the words.

For prayer is not a show of long words. It is not an exhaustive display but a quiet discussion with a loving Father.

This can be difficult if you’ve never had a loving Father in this life. It can be difficult to overcome the link between an earthly Father and your Heavenly Father. The reality is there is no link. For your Father in Heaven will never do you harm. Forgive your earthly Father.

Listen to your heart today, everyday, and pray to your Heavenly Father in your heart, or in a letter or in a conversation just as you would speak to a friend. For God truly is your friend! Your Father in Heaven will hear you, His Spirit will guide you, for He loves you, because prayer to Him is not hard but very, very easy.

Father, teach us to pray. Guide our hearts on how easy and simple it is to come to you and to talk to you. When we sin, when we make a mistake, then help us to come to you and ask for your forgiveness, for you’ve taught us that you will. When we are sad or depressed or hurt or upset may we all turn our hearts and prayer and our thoughts to you for you understand and you care. Thank you for making prayer easy; easy because of your love.
