The King's Heart
“The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wishes.” Proverbs 21:1
It is easy to become distracted by those in authority. We often wonder why they do what they do, say what they say, mean what they say—behind the words. It is easy to have your thought life become captive by this distraction.
Joseph knew this, so did David, and Christ our Lord. Yet, they learned that the king’s heart is under the control of God. They believed that the king could do nothing that God would not allow.
This is a principle that if not mentioned on occasions, if our minds are not refreshed, that we tend to forget. In essence, that is why God has caused many of the men that we listen to—to preach. To remind us, and to refresh our minds of the teachings and the ways of God.
And how did Joseph, David and Christ respond? They submitted themselves to the authority, in faith to God. They did not clamor out in the streets, or make a big fuss, they silently suffered… and each in suffering… became a King, themselves.
