The Spirit Will Teach You

“Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.” 2 Timothy 2:20-21.

Just as in a large kitchen there are all types of tools. Some of these prepare food and they must stay very clean. Other tools are not as clean as their job is different, such as a mop, a broom, a dustpan— for example. You would not eat from a trashcan or from a dustpan. How do you know the difference? Well, we simply do, we have been taught what is clean and what is unclean.

We are taught these days by the Spirit of God, ("But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. John 14:26). What does the Spirit say to us? ‘Clean up your heart, do not live in anger, bitterness, wrath, or jealousy… do not be anxious, do not fear—just focus on His righteousness in your heart--be clean.’

God wants our hearts to be clean before Him so that He can use us more readily. God has work for us to accomplish. There are millions who have not heard the Gospel – maybe God wants to send you?

What is the Spirit speaking to your heart about?

Are you listening to the Spirit of God?

What you are hearing or feeling does it line-up with the Word of God?

Does God want you to go out and tell others His Good News?

Father, so often we simply do not know what your Spirit is speaking to our hearts about. Most of the time I/we become so busy with making a living and everything that entails that we don’t stop and pray, and when we pray… too often we don’t simply listen… to your Spirit. The Comforter that you have blessed us with, that teaches us all of your truths and that guides our hearts ever to your Word and therefore to you. Help us Father, to listen and obey.
