A Morning Prayer

"Lord, we rise on this early morning to worship. This, our worship, is our purpose; our best that we have-all that we have. We are astonded by your mercy and grace, it is beyond comprehension. Who is like the Lord in goodness, mercy, and love... none other...

Sunlight streaks are now rising over the horizon and we know that today you will bless the righteous and the unrighteous with your care. You will hold out mercy and salvation for any and all who choose, you will give breath to those who praise you and those who give you curse.

Such encompassing love we can not fathom, such meekness we could never possess. Meekness being the power to stop such intrusions to righteousness-yet, choosing for the time being to show mercy. Teach us dear Father to have mercy shine forth from our hearts just as the sun warms the fields and glistens off the earth's waters this morning.

That hearts will recognize your glory and not our own, your worthiness--compared to our own unworthiness--to you their praise, this full attention, and Lord we pray--their eternal salvation!

Our prayer this morning... is to hear our praise!
