Fruit of the Spirit

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law”. Galatians 5:22-23

There are many laws in our lands. Laws meant to keep human nature in check. Yet, God operates differently. God desires that we become his children and not follow the letter of the Law—there is a big difference.

Becoming a child of God requires a giving-up of our selves, a surrender of our will to his and a belief that ‘our Father’ will handle any situation. Becoming a child is following obediently. Obedience to the Word of God from the heart will generate the fruit of the Spirit and there are no laws governing them.

Father, teach us to be your children and to obey you. Our dependency is on you.
